Bridal Mask

This drama is AMAZING. Totally not what I expected it to be. I thought it was going to be good, but wow it took it to a whole new level. The plot-line was packed full of twists and turns that I never expected and boy, was there not one single boring moment. At times epic and others touching, this drama has it all. Action, romance, DRAMA so much drama... it was insane. There was only one single thing that disappointed me throughout this 28 episode extravaganza and that was some (not all) of the costume choices didn't seem era appropriate, but that was all. Aside from that I can't fault it. Joo Won is an amazing actor, portraying two distinct personalities so well and with so much depth is no small feat. The OST, amazing, the plot, amazing, the acting, amazing. It portrayed such a tough time in Korea's history in such a touching way, each time I saw the people cheering on Bridal Mask I wanted to cheer him on too. Bridal Mask certainly takes a well-earned place among my top five drama favourites and I will be sure to watch it again.

Synopsis~
Two brothers - Lee Kang-to and Lee Kang-san – live in Seoul in the 1930s, oppressed under the Japanese rule. Kang-to, the younger brother, is a rising star in the police force and works with the Japanese police to capture “Bridal Mask,” a mysterious freedom fighter who fights for independence wearing a Korean Bridal Mask. Later when Lee Kang-to’s life is turned upside down, he dons the Bridal Mask and fights injustice and rights wrongs against the Japanese during one of the darkest periods of Korea’s history.
Kimura Shunji is a gentle Japanese teacher who has come to teach in Korea against his father's will. He is best friends with Kang-to and shares a loving relationship with his Korean nanny. He also falls in love with the fiercely patriotic Mok Dan, a woman who is in love with Kang-to, a twist that begins to change him into a darker person.

It's Okay, It's Love

This drama was gorgeous!!The cinematography was beautiful and so was the story line. It was very original and addressed the topic of mental illness delicately and with grace. The characters were well developed and the acting nothing short of fabulous! One of my favourite parts of the drama (WARNING SPOILER!)was the date trip to Okinawa. It was so happy, and not to mention, really pretty. Gong Hyo Jin is one of my favourite actresses and her performance in this drama tell you exactly why. Fast, fresh and fabulous, It's Okay, It's Love is one of my favourite dramas this year.

Synopsis~
Jang Jae Yul (Jo In Sung) is a mystery writer and radio DJ. He suffers from a obsession. He then meets a psychiatrist named Ji Hae Soo. Ji Hae Soo (Gong Hyo Jin) is going through her first year fellowship in psychiatry at a University Hospital. She chose psychiatry because she doesn't want to perform surgeries. After she meets Jang Jae Yul, her life goes through big changes. They end up becoming home-mates and things turn romantic.

Sungkyunkwan Scandal

This drama was just fun! Another popular K-Drama set-up, 'girl who dresses up as boy but then meets another boy and falls in love' but it was still great! I really enjoyed the story line and the setting in the university, it kept it fresh. I also really liked the friction between the two 'groups' at the university it was engaging and lively :) Overall, it was a really fresh, fun drama and is one that won't leave you all torn up lying in a ball on the floor. Bonus!

You Who Came From the Stars

You who came from the Stars was a really original drama, and consequently it was very, very enjoyable (hence its immense popularity in Korea and overseas). The flow of the plot was very good and consistent and I was never once bored. The link between the past and the present and the little scenes and stories also made the drama very interesting. The actors performances were flawless (as can only be expected of Kim Soo Hyeon and Jeon Ji Hyeon) and the chemistry was terrific. Overall 10/10 would see again.

Long time no post... plenty of dramas have been seen...

Holy Moly! Has it been a long time since I have posted!
So, I've watched quite a few dramas since my last post... so I can't really do individual posts for them, it would take me forever! So I'm just going to do a quick rating, a few words and move on.

1. Gu Family Book
Rating: 4 stars
Fast, sweet and pretty good all round.

2. 49 Days
Rating: 5 stars
Pure, beautiful, unpredictable and Oh my God, the meaning of life!

3. The Master's Sun
Rating: 5 Stars
Funny, sweet, unpredictable, altogether enjoyable!

4. My Princess
Rating: 3 stars
I didn't not enjoy it, there was just room for improvement.
Cute, funny but predictable.

5. The Heirs
Rating: 4.5 stars
Classic poor girl meets rich boy set up, predictable, but extremely entertaining. So bad, it's good!

Anyway, these are the one's I've seen recently and I'm hoping to watch, 'You Who Came from the Stars' next!

Running Man in Brisbane!!

So Running Man is in Brisbane, and I thought it would be a good idea to try and see them arrive at Brisbane airport. Apparently so did like 1000 other people.

(Source on Picture)
There were more people there than that too... no joke!

Anyway the whole experience was really, really awesome. There was a great vibe about the place, so many excited people and Running Man fans! Actually, I practically made friends with a girl standing next to me, we were both so excited and nervous! When the Running Man members made their first appearance everyone went wild and started to run in the direction they were headed. I grabbed hands with the girl who was standing next to me and we ran!! I managed to see some of the member (Lee Kwang Soo, Ji Seok Jin and Kim Jong Kook) and I saw both the guests, Kim Woo Bin and Rain! Unfortunately I got separated from my new found friend and didn't see her again... I just really hope she saw Yoo Jae Seok, she really, really wanted to. All in all, it was too exciting for words. Literally. I just screamed (crazy, I know).

To get to the point I made a really corny video about it. It was the first time I have ever seen anyone famous that I admire, and it was my first time really being a total 'fan girl' and it was well worth it!
